On Saturday, 10th October, Charlie Moreno and Paola Boccia from EUDEC joined a workshop on democratic education promoted by Prof. Alessandra Romano at the University of Siena, engaging with approximately 100 upper secondary school teachers.
Their contribution offered an inspiring opportunity to reflect on the principles and practices of democratic education, encouraging participants to question established educational approaches and explore the role of democratic values in shaping learning environments. Through their session, Charlie and Paola helped raise awareness of the importance of participation, autonomy, and shared decision-making in education.
The workshop provided a valuable space for dialogue and critical reflection, bringing democratic education into conversation with the everyday experiences and challenges of teaching.
